Building a world: Makers

We are inviting the makers: the set designers, make-up artists, costumers and casting directors to share with us their process when (quite literally) building a world. What is their first step? Where do they get inspiration? How is the finished product different from what they first imagined?
Ronnie yeskel - casting director
Yeskel with over 30 years of experience and having worked on over 100 films Ronnie is a casting veteran. She is best known for her work on Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Orphan. She was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Casting for her work on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Zoe hay - Makeup artist & wigmaker
Zoe has been using her skills as a makeup artist and wigmaker for over 25 years in film and television industries. Her work on the black and white silent film, The Artist was a career highlight, combining her expertise in the areas of period projects and in crafting custom facial hair. Other recent projects include Love and Mercy, Masters of Sex, Hail Caesar and The People Vs. Oj Simpson which earned an Emmy Nomination for Makeup. She is presently working on NBC’s “This Is Us”.
allison leach - costume designer
Allison Leach lives to create characters.
Her experience ranges widely between genres: from period drama to comic book dance and science fiction. Creating a signature style for each character she helps bring to life.
Recent endeavors include: Mattel’s first live-action feature Max Steel, Peter Berg's docu-drama series Live to Tell, Jason Derulo's Get Ugly music video, Avicii's Broken Arrows music video, Jon M. Chu’s series The LXD, and Bryan Singer’s interactive sci-fi series, H+. She has assistant designed for such style-making series as Mad Men & Glee.
Raised on a California farm, Allison holds degrees in Drama & Gender Studies and a masters in Fashion & Textile Design, completed in Holland and Paris. Allison brings an equally down-home and internationally savvy approach to each new project. http://www.allisonleachcostumedesign.com/
PELE KUDREN - PRODUCTION DESIGN & SET DECORATOR
Pelé Kudren is a production designer and set decorator based in Los Angeles, CA. She grew up in Woodstock, NY and after high school moved out to California where she got a BFA from CalArts. Her love for both film and design is what let her to a career in art department. She is always up for a new challenge and she relishes the opportunity to collaborate with talented people across various visual mediums including film, television, commercials, music videos, and virtual reality. She's worked for numerous iconic worldwide brands including Prada, Nike, Toyota, and Samsung as well as many music icons such as Beyonce, Pink, The Weeknd and Ariana Grande. Wendy is a woman who resides in Santa Monica, but lives in Topanga in her mind. An actor, stand up comic, writing coach, and motivational workshop leader, she might be familiar to you from her appearances on Oprah, Curb Your Enthusiasm, or The Sopranos.
